Blog creator Syphax is a graduate student working on a M.S. in experimental psychology, with a research emphasis in the psychology of religion.  His research interests include such topics as inter-religious conflict and prejudice, mindfulness meditation, religious minority groups in America (focusing on Mormonism and Islam), and the writings of William James.  Syphax also writes about the intersection of metaphysics, hylemorphic dualism, and experimental psychology at Aristotle’s Revenge.  He is also a songwriter and one of the founding members of LDS musicians website Linescratchers.

Contributor metacognizant is an undergraduate with a senior class status and hoping to pursue a doctorate in either neuropsychology or cognitive neuroscience. His research interests include the neuropsychology of religion, consciousness, and clinical neuroscience. He also writes on the intersection between neuroscience, philosophy, and theology at his blog at metacognizant.wordpress.org.

    What a great combination here. My best knowledge about Mormons is what I learned from reading Orson Scott Card, the science fiction writer who wrote terrific books of the women of the Bible. I am open to knowing more and I guess this would be a good place to start.

    OSC is legendary in some Mormon literary circles, though his controversial opinions make him less popular in others. Glad to see you around.
